What is something that would surprise me about you?
I used to hitchhike and travel the world with a backpack.
What can I expect from your class?
My offerings are deeply inspired by yogic lineage and all of the teachers who have so brilliantly shared their wisdom along the path with me. I come from a heart-centered approach and encourage folks to anchor into kindness, reverence and radical self acceptance. My classes are rooted in alignment based Vinyāsa, prānāyāma, and yogic philosophy. They are infused with anatomically informed sequencing, breath-based movement, and a strong focus on seamless transitions.
What is the most essential part of practice for you?
Mindful self awareness.
Kristen’s classes integrate elements of Dharma (Mittra) Yoga, Astanga, and Vinyasa into dynamic alignment-based, psychically clarifying, lineage informed journeys. Breathing exercises, chanting, and meditation are woven into her offerings to assist in the transformation process that is yoga.
In 2018 she co-created Walking Dharma podcast with her partner where she dives into yogic philosophy and how to apply it here/now. She currently lives in Berkeley, CA and when she is not immersed in yoga, can be found hiking, immersing herself in sacred waters or sitting mindfully with a cup of jasmine tea watching the birds.
