What is something that would surprise me about you?
I have a dream of performing with Cirque du Soleil as a trapeze swinger, but I’m afraid of heights.
What can I expect from your class?
Creative sequencing with a focus on alignment, embodiment, and strengthening foundation all centered on dropping from your thinking mind into your heart.
What is the most essential part of practice for you?
The breath.
Keegan’s yoga practice is a sacred journey that emphasizes the integration of body, mind, and spirit for embodied resilience. Her yoga journey began in 2008 in San Francisco seeking a deeper connection to herself and a greater connection to life itself. She was profoundly impacted by the ancient teachings of yoga and how to be more connected to her body and open her heart, feeling stronger both physically and emotionally to face life’s challenges with a bit more ease. With a background in personal development, transformational leadership, and community activism, yoga felt like the culmination of her life path. In 2014, she completed her 200-hour training with Jasmine Tarkeshi of Lotusland SF (formerly Laughing Lotus) and went on to complete her 300-hour training with Janet Stone, 100-hour Embodied Trauma Integration training with Tina Nance in Bali, Indonesia, and 50-hour Sound Healing Certification with Michelle Rasner Cash and Rich Gausman.
Keegan believes yoga is a breathing movement meditation and an opportunity to be more connected to our body’s intelligence and higher self, creating a pathway for healing and transformation. Her teaching and practice draws upon the Bhakti & Hatha yoga traditions weaving in philosophy, mantra, breathwork, energy medicine and a connection to the divine. She aims to inspire students to take what happens on the mat out into our everyday lives– to quiet the noise in the mind, tune into the wisdom of the body, and create a deeper level of awareness. One of her greatest passions is travel, having traveled to over 20 countries, she now hosts local and international retreats to awaken your inner truth.
