FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where is Haum?
We are located at 2973 16th Street in the heart of San Francisco’s colorful Mission District. You’ll find us on the 5th floor (the warm up is free).
What’s the best way to get there?
We’re conveniently located right off the 16th Street / Mission BART station (Cross street is Mission, between Capp and Mission). We are also easy to access via Muni lines 14 and 22. There is limited meter parking available on around the neighboring streets. SF parking we’ve all been there! So if you’re in a pinch, there is a paid lot at 16th Street and Hoff just a few blocks away.
How do I enter the building?
When you arrive at the main door hit #005 on the keypad to enter. We’ll buzz you in! Upon entering, walk up the stairs to the 5th floor and you’re at Haum.
What should I wear?
While we are not a “hot” yoga studio, you will sweat in class! We suggest you wear comfortable clothing that you can easily move around in — nothing so tight that it restricts your movement but nothing so loose that there’s lots of extra fabric in your way.. Quick-drying gear or clothes made for athletics are best since we do not have showers on-site.
What should I bring?
“Phone. Keys. Wallet.” You know the drill! Only this time, it’s “Mat. Towel. Water.” If you forget or decide to come on a whim, we’ve got you covered. We rent out hand-size sweat towels and Manduka PROlite mats. We also sell Manduka eQua Yoga Mat Towels and Yoga Hand Towels and a variety of Manduka Yoga Mats.
What if I’m new to yoga?
If you are brand new to yoga, we highly recommend you take our Foundations of Yoga class offered the last weekend of every month. While you can start taking other classes right away, the Foundations class will fill in any gaps for the yoga novice. You’ll have a chance to discover the benefits of each class type at Haum, learn the essential yoga poses that you’ll see across formats, and ask questions. We’ll cover everything from “Are the expensive yoga mats really worth it?” to “What is this 8-limbed path?” Register for our monthly Foundations class here!
What’s the proper etiquette for the studio?
Part of the joy of practicing at Haum is being in community with fellow yogis who have got your back! The best ways to show love and respect to your yoga fam are to arrive on time for class and to stay for savasana. We also ask that you practice good hygiene and are free of any strong scent while in the space. Lastly, please do not interrupt the teacher during class; however, any of our teachers would be happy to answer a question after practice!
What about COVID-19 protocols?
We are following CDC guidelines and the directives of the San Francisco Department of Public Health to make sure we are doing our part to protect you at Haum. At current, all individuals are required to be vaccinated. There are no social distancing requirements or mask requirements.
