Come to this workshop with your aches and learn to work them through to roll into relief and leave with new knowledge on how to care for your body as a whole.

THE LOCKS THAT UNLOCK

HOSTED BY KRISTEN COYLE
OCT 14, 2023

Join Kristen Coyle for a powerful exploration of the bandhas through pranayama, asanas and kriyas (actions).

The word ‘bandha’ translates as to bind, to lock, or the binding of consciousness to a particular object. The bandhas are the physical engagements of specific areas of the body that help direct energy up the spine, and they affect the physical, mental and subtle bodies. On the physical level, utilizing the bandhas helps to up-level your practice and create the sensation of ‘floating’ and stability from inside out in backbends, arm balances, and inversions (to name a few). On an energetic level, the bandhas invite a steady, powerful focal point to rest the mind for pranayama, and help create ease in a wide range of breathwork practices and kriyas.

Based on the teachings of the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, this workshop will carry you deep into the subtle energies of the inner body, explore potent pranayama practices focused on the bandhas, and dive into an all-levels full spectrum asana practice with specific instruction on how and when to utilize the bandhas. Note: suggested to come with an empty stomach.
