What is the most essential part of practice for you?

Maintaining the balance of Sthira and Sukha and learning to decipher the time and place for one or the other! I love this practice because it has taught me the need for and importance of each.

I began my yoga practice as a teenager and it has been one of the greatest constants in my life ever since. I remember trying to scrounge together enough money to be able to attend yoga classes at my local studio – I was absolutely enamored! This practice has taught + given me more than I can even begin to put into words and my hope is that I can help you discover your practice as well.

Lauren Cohen teaches yoga throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and leads retreats all over the world. She is passionate about sharing yoga as a life practice, one that goes far beyond the mat. Lauren was a dancer and competitive figure skater for nearly 15 years and first started practicing yoga in college. She completed her first 200-hour training with Marni Task in 2011 and has been teaching ever since. She has studied under masterful teachers including Jason Crandell, Janet Stone and Stephanie Snyder and is currently continuing her education with Tias Little, focusing on yoga as a therapeutic path to true healing.
