What is something that would surprise me about you?
I was a child band geek.

What can I expect from your class?
An intelligently sequenced practice that can be both grounding and uplifting, is infused accessible yoga philosophy and aims to include all bodies.

What is the most essential part of practice for you?
The most essential part of practice for me is recognizing how yoga is a mirror for my life.

I consider myself, first, an advocate for social equity, and secondly, an ambassador to the practice of yoga for whomever wishes to experience it for themselves.

I am primarily influenced by Katonah Yoga®, founded by my teacher Nevine Michaan, as well as, vinyasa flow and elements of functional fitness.

Katonah Yoga® is an integration of classical Hatha yoga with Taoist theory. It is based on the premise that the way we do one thing is the way we do everything. This can mean seeing each part of our body, for example, and also seeing our body as a whole. This translates, poetically, into how yoga is a metaphor for life, and how our imagination can be our greatest asset to live our best lives.

Outside of teaching yoga, I am a social worker for children and their families, am learning how to decorate cakes and am the humble servant of two cats: Tina and Turner.
