What is something that would surprise me about you?
I played bass in an all-girl punk band in high school.

What can I expect from your class?
You can expect a blend of devotional movement and attention to detail.

What is the most essential part of practice for you?
The most essential part of yoga is the self-inquiry. Every aspect of yoga is a path that leads you to back to the questions of who am i? and what is my relationship to the world?

Rosa is a student and teacher of yoga, meditation, and Sanskrit. Although she originally came to yoga for the physical benefits, she soon realized how beautifully it complemented her already existing meditation practice. She has deep roots in the Iyengar yoga community, and her style blends attention to breath and alignment with a more organic flow.

Rosa’s classes seek to challenge the body, balance the nervous system, and calm the mind. Each yoga posture can be approached as an opportunity to see how the mind responds to adversity, making it possible for us to learn more mature ways of responding in everyday life. Can the mind simply observe what is true in this moment, or does it immediately judge the experiences that arise, looking to change or avoid them?
